Cedar Lake Ballet

Tonight at 7:00 pm at the Loeb Playhouse at Purdue The Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet will be performing.The Purdue Convecation's website says "since its founding in 2003, the New York-based Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet Company has already distinguished itself through both its exceptionally talented corps of 16 powerfully athletic dancers and its emphasis on acquiring and commissioning new works by the world's most sought-after emerging choreographers." I will be attending the ballet because I have love for ballet. I took classes when I was 8-10 years old. I finally quit because I reached a level that was taught by a extremely strict and mean teacher. Anyway, the Cedar Lake Ballet is a different kind of ballet. The dancers use a more hip-hop ballet. The video I watched on purdue.edu/convections showed the dancers jumping and being more active than doing a plea. If you are wondering where to go to dinner before the show I would suggest the Union on campus. They have burgers to noodle bowls. If you have never been there before I would try it. They have a smoothie store called ZIA. Their smoothies are marvelous! Tomorrow there will be a post on the ballet.
